Action Lab for Development continues to expand its international impact as the organization strengthens its presence in Canada while advancing innovative work in ethical and responsible Artificial Intelligence.
Originally founded in Cameroon and now active in Alberta, Canada, Action Lab for Development has been building new international partnerships focused on entrepreneurship, advocacy, education, and ethical technology solutions.
In another major milestone, Action Lab for Development has officially been selected by NIYEL , an international public affairs and advocacy organization, to implement a significant project exploring the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Cameroon and Francophone Africa through workshops and national consultations. NIYEL is an international public affairs, advocacy, and civic engagement organization that works across Africa to strengthen citizen participation, policy engagement, governance, and social impact through strategic communications, campaigns, research, and partnership-driven initiatives.
The initiative forms part of a broader AI programme supported with approximately CAD 615,000 (about 252 million Francs CFA/XAF) dedicated to advancing inclusive and responsible AI development across Francophone Africa.
The project was jointly developed during a 12-week United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment titled: “Donor Research, Partner Outreach, and Grant Proposal Writing.”
Following the pre-selection phase, Action Lab For Development representatives Tfurndabi Cornelius, Charles Daniel NDJAB and Ongezwa Mpisana successfully presented and defended the proposal before a six-member NIYEL panel led by Angèle Kandé during an online Zoom session, leading to the project’s final selection.
This achievement reflects the organization’s growing international credibility and its commitment to contributing meaningful perspectives to global conversations around ethical AI, innovation, and digital inclusion.
As AI continues transforming industries and societies worldwide, Action Lab For Development aims to ensure that innovation remains people-centered, ethical, and accessible.
“This selection is an important step for Action Lab For Development as we continue expanding our work internationally from Canada while staying deeply connected to African innovation and advocacy. We are honored by NIYEL’s trust and excited to contribute to responsible and inclusive AI conversations through this important initiative.”

In 2025, Action Lab For Development officially launched the MoralityCode AI App, an innovative platform designed to promote ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence among entrepreneurs, teachers, students, innovators, and professionals. The initiative focuses on helping users better understand the social, ethical, and human implications of AI technologies while encouraging responsible innovation and decision-making. As AI rapidly becomes part of everyday life, from education and business to governance and communication, initiatives like MoralityCode AI highlight the growing importance of developing technology that respects human dignity, transparency, accountability, and inclusion. Through this project, Action Lab For Development continues to position itself at the forefront of conversations around ethical AI and people-centered digital transformation.
